Hi, so I am looking for good bantam breeds to own. It came down to Silkies, Frizzled Polish and Bantam Cochins. Would any of these breeds go well together? And if not, I am also open to just owning one of these breeds. I would love to hear any of your experiences with these breeds!

Thanks! :)

I wouldn't put the bantam cochins in with either of the other two, because the Cochins will pick on the others.
Silkies and polish/frizzled bantams can go together.

I've had bantam Cochins and they were very flighty.

One of the Cochins was a frizzle. He in particular wasn't pleasant, but other frizzles from his flock were tolerable.

All my bantam cochins are gentle. They are a breed I like the most. The roosters can be full of themselves, but it adds to their appeal. I have mixed them with silkies without problems. The source of the birds and breeding can affect their manners.

Polish and silkies can be odd birds who overreact to things they can't see well. Both are higher maintenance to me.

Yes, I love my bantam Cochins, they all have such great personalities and are easy to handle. They are also very hardy birds.

I also do love silkies, but I wouldn’t recommend them to someone who’s new to chickens. They have difficulty seeing due to their large crests and often have neurological issues due to vaulted skulls, this is same with polish too. Silkies also don’t do well without cover, their fur like feathers can get soaked when it’s rainy and they can die from getting too cold.
