What are your favorite breeds?

I'm a fan of cochin bantams. I have 10 in total and a silkie. I like the silkies but they love to go broody... they aren't good for egg production but I still manage to get anywhere from 4 to 8 a day

I really like white rocks and light brahmas! Silkies make great pet chickens!

Bantam cochins are great! I love the colors. I used to breed blue and mottled cochins. Sadly they got eaten by a fox and i haven't rebuilt my flock. They are such sweet little birds though. Thats a good amount for the cochins...lucky!

I'm a fan of Orpingtons. They are the friendliest, most quiet, and smartest birds I have had. The only drawback is how broody they get, so I'm pretty limited in how many I can have. Australorps are up there too, and Welsummers would be if mine weren't so talkative. One of them knows which bedroom window is mine and stands outside it squawking when she wants scratch.

Aww! That's so funny how your welsummer waits by your bedroom window! Can I see a pic of her? I wanted welsummers but ended up getting Plymouth rocks. Sounds like she's a cutie!

my favorite are my hybridized red jungle fowl but I'd say australorps lay the richest tasting eggs
