What are your pets named? What are some of the strange names you've used or seen?

All the animals, not just chickens!

After my daughter named our chickens I got thinking and realized my family doesn't "do" normal names. The cats have names like Spoon and Fiddle. My chickens are Abraxsos, Azrath, Morath, Zinthos and more.

(My kids all have very much normal and human sounding names for those worried)

It got me wondering, are there other people who name their animals strange names? What "normal" names have you used?

My past cats have had names like Shampoo, Conditioner, Skunk and Chicken. The most normal name we have in the pack would have to be Wolfie - he came named. Or maybe Socrates. Last year we had a Finch named Bathtub.

So, what are your pets names? Normal and unique! What's the story with their name (if they have one)?

I name animals really stupid things all the time. I have a turkey hen named Jeffery, a chicken hen named Henry, another named small boy, another named big boy, several others just named after their color. I have a silkie cockerel named Meatloaf, I had a silkie hen named Turkey Lunch, I have a muscovy drake named Nubs. I have used Goat, Pig, Sheep, and Cow as names for rabbits. And I have given plenty of other stupid names...

I named one of my roosters General Tso. More morbid than weird I suppose.

Our blue Swedish is named brownie even though she is grey. Haku is our buff drake, lily is our black swish and she is nothing like a lily (she is very sassy), and noir is our cayuga. We name our ducks without a rhyme or reason. We have a leopard gecko named chic (pronounced like sheek)

I had a Cat named Tar Tihs spelled backwards its....

A Dog named Kitty.... She was a Boston Terrier. And a Cutie patootie... We werent allowed to have a dog.... Wed Call here Kitty Kitty Grab her up and gently drop her over the fence when the land lord dropped by.

An Aussie Cross dog named Barbara Anne Streishound.... She was famous I found strangers would say HI AnNIE at horse shows. Walking down the street.... You name it...

A Dog Named Powcho.... Dont let the three year old name the dog....

then there is My horse.... Her Registered name is Rocking Jolly Kateen... I didnt name her but its perfect for her... I call her Katee or Baby Girl... Shes 2000 pounds. Jet black and a Percheron. She is a hoot. She would grab a lawn chair and waive it around playing with it while watching the other horses spook and jump around their corrals...

Finally Three Roosters named Waylin Willie and Bubba.... What a trio.... Waylin was the boss he had a powerful crow Willie's Doodle do was Hi pitched and twisted off to the right... Bubba Would stand there and stare at em....

We've had a cat named Touche' When she played as a kitten she would run up the cat tree and leap to the drapes, then hang by one front paw with her other front leg stuck out like she was fencing. She was named after a cartoon we watched called Touche' Turtle because she was a tortoise shell calico.

We also had a cat named PetNBite. When we'd pet her she would roll over to have her belly scratched, then nibble our fingers.

We've had a dog named Knucklehead because he would bite at the wheels of the lawnmower. My husband would holler Knock it off you Knucklehead. It stuck.

We have a white dog with one blue eye and one brown, and a brindle ear. We call him Frank(enstein)

Our rooster is named Fugly because my husband says he's Freakin Ugly! I think he's handsome

My strangely named pets tootsie for a female dog, eyenieo for a female cat, Mrs. meanie (yes that female cat was mean!), cutie pie for a male cat, 2 cats (can't remember gender of either) named black and white one (they were the only cat we had at the time that was black and white, and yes we had the 2 cats at 2 different times not overlapping) all others normal names for a person or cat or dog, 1 blackie 1 puff ball 1 fluffy and 1 princess but the others had people names. but my mom named me after her dad, Verner, and I have as of yet never had anyone tell me they have heard of that name in my area, 2 or 3 people I've met online have said they heard of it, But my mom and her siblings tell me that no one has ever said they never heard of it before and they know for a fact it's the most popular name in man kinds history and they hate that I refuse to use it.
