The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia!
I'm not getting any younger and had been wanting a new car....well,
several months back I bought me that new car....a 2012 Nissan...
pretty, shiny black car...
my birds didn't seem to care one way or another...the ducks, chickens,
guineas or peafowl UNTIL I washed and waxed my shiny black car...
Blue is my Indigo Blue Male, a little under two years of age...
Blue "saw" this big blue bird in my doors...
he bounced off each door attacking this big bird..
scratching and denting each door panel protecting his territory...
how do I know it was Blue?
from inside my house I was hearing this 'thumping' noise...look
out the door, hearing the noise again, look at the driveway only to see Blue
in a fight with my car.....I thing Blue won!

was not able to get all the scratches out along with many dents...
the driver door took the worst of Blue's rath...

my new car....

so what has your pea done??

Well m ine have nevered scratched anything i care about, most of the farm equipment here is old and has rust so their scratches don't show anyhow, anything i do not want scratched i keep under cover.\

They were naughty a few weeks ago, they disappeared and stayed out all night in the woods, worried me to death, on a good note i do not think they will do it again any time soon, they sleep most all the next day which tells me they didn't get much sleep in the wild woods

I caught all my hens way down my driveway chasing a cow bird, had to herd them back with the 4-wheeler a few days ago.

was just told there are alot of feathers up near my mailbox....went to see who got hit and it was
Lacy, my Blackshoulder Indigo Blue hen....grrrrrr....and no one stopped to say they hit her....

hope it did some damage to their vehicle....I'm sooo upset!

Sorry you lost her

they can get very far very fast when they are pursuing something, that is why i waited till i retired to free range my animals so i am home to keep an eye on them, the only birds i have ever had to worry about is the peas and it is because they will persue just about anything, where anyother time they stay in the safe zone.

It's not the vehicles fault, the person that hit her was problem in shock and upset about it, thats a big bird and you do not want to do damage to thei auto cause they could get you for damages.

never thought of that...that they could get me for damages....

but I'm still ticked off....you were one that replied to my post and telling me my peafowls colors...
but anyway...thanks for your input

well now I am down to 1 peahen and 3 peacocks ( you also told me 2 of my girls were really boys)
so my ratio is badly off...

I learn something almost each day regarding my peas...being new to them (1year or so owning my first pea)

A freind of mine had her peacock go missing for a few days. The police finally called her to tell her they had found it....roosting on top of a car in somebody's car port!

Can you imagine what that poor guy thought going out to his car in the morning? And the call to work to tell them he was going to be late:

"No really, boss, there is a PEACOCK on top of my car! Really! No I am NOT making this up......"

Earlier this year when I was holding a pencil about to write the date on an egg I found in the pen, Peep (my tame boy) ran up and snatched the pencil out of my hand and ran away with it!

That isn't the first time he has taken something from me and ran off with it. He will take plastic bags out of my hand that I was using to hold the treats in and such.
Also he likes to sneak up on me so when I turn around I almost step on him, in fact sometimes I step on his foot on accident...He is my little shadow.
Mainly the really bad stuff that goes on is when Ice is too bossy to some of the other peafowl. She is always mean to new peafowl unless if they are an adult male.
