I posted this before, but I thought she had a straight comb that had been trimed because of the scar look to it
Now I have biddies with rose combs
So, Please look again,
What breed is She???????????

So she is Columbian wyandotte
and he is a Columbian Rock!

So now I have Mutt biddies,

Some of the biddies have straight combs and some have rose combs. (6 total)

I think that I will send them all to an auction!

I'm so disapointed, been working with this pair for 6 months.

1 out of 8 eggs will be fertile

Actually, I'm not thinking that anyone. Her legs are the wrong color for Wyandotte.

ETA: Frostbite can take off the spikes of single combs. Her legs are the correct color for Rocks. But I don't know if the earlobes are the correct color.

I was just thinking that myself, wyandottes have yellow legs
Columbian rocks have straight combs but I am sure mishaps happen in the comb department

Upon looking at featherites pics of the columbian rocks they too have a more pale yellow leg so now your hen has become a mystery to me she is cute tho

Both Wyandottes & Rocks have yellow legs. That said, a hen that is laying regularly may lose leg colour. This is particularly true of older birds. Hers is a rose comb, not a single comb missing it's points therefore she's a Wyandotte.

She is a sweet hem, I named her Princess, and the Roo Pappy

They look older, and I'm sure they have been in production for some time.

Why would a breeder pass them off as a pair?

I'm new to breeding chicken and fell like I've been taken.

There's that term breeder again. Is a breeder someone who, with knowledge of a breed mates males & females in such a way as to produce a quality offspring or is a breeder simply someone who puts a male & female together knowing they'll produce something? Both I suppose could be termed breeders since they are in fact promoting the breeding process. That's why it's best to learn your chosen breed before you buy. There are pleanty of the second type of breeders out there.
