What birds can I put in an outdoor aviary?

Hi,I am gonna be making an outdoor aviary this summer and am wondering what I can have in it with these cold New England winters.Its going to be about 8x8x8 in my backyard or maybe front yard,and will be planting lots of shrubs and bushes in it (non-toxic of course!).I will be having quail on the ground but would like some cool birds in the branches and such.I will obviously do lots of research on each bird breed before I buy them.

I would like to see what people have to say.

Its hard finding a cold hardy bird, other than some fancy chickens and phesents. If you keep the birds in the house in the winter, you could get anything.

You could put doves or some fancy pigeons in it. There's some really cool varieties of pigeons and pigeon colors. If you got some pretty colored homers, you could even let them out sometimes to fly around the yard (after they were kept there long enough to breed and establish as "home").

Is there an avian rehab center near you? I'm sure they would have some advice...
