What brand computer should i get?

I need a new computer, and dont know what is good.
Dell
Acer
E-Machine
Compaq

Needs 2GB
250 plus hard drive
Needs to be fast and powerful and last
What do you have? How is it?

Get an HP have had several through the years.
Second choice would be Compaq
Dell never had but several relatives have had them and wont get them anymore.

I like Dells, first one lasted 8 years and was still ok but alittle slow so I Just got a new one...I've never had problems with Dells.....

I've been happy with my Dells but not with the English as a Second Language sales and support.

I've never cared too much for HP or Compaq.

Dell thats all i get Just dont get the cheep ones (you get what you pay for) mine is going on 5 years. My old compaq lasted only 3 and died 2 times and repared alot. Dell gets alot of choises too.

I like the Dell. I hate vista though, and they all seem to come with it now. Make a deal with whoever you buy it from that it has to come with windows XP
