Hello ! I am ordering ducklings and a gosling sometime this week ! My brooder should be here tomorrow and I just got feeders and waterers ! I am so excited but I have no clue which brand of feed I should get ! I know unmediated but I have not been able to find any duckling starter ! Can the gosling eat the same feed ? What feed have you used ? And what bedding should I get ? I heard that hay and straw isn't very absorbent . And I heard shavings aren't good because they cause respiratory problems ! I just want what's best for my new babies <3 thank you so much I appreciate it !!

Howdy,I know Flock raiser by Purina is very good feed to use. Its for all waterfowl, poultry, turkeys. Its a bit pricey but its got everything ducks and geese need so you won't have to go and buy other stuff for them. Shavings work really good I have used shavings for my ducklings and it works really well. If you want you could also get pellets. There are some that have a good pine smell in em. Since geese and ducks like to play with their waterer, the water will absorb the pellets and will be powdery and smell really good. Ive used both and they work really good. Have fun with your ducklings!

Duckboy has given great information just wanted to add make sure they aren't cedar shavings. Cedar gives off fumes when exposed to a heat lamp that can kill ducklings. Good luck with your babies and don't forget to post pics :)

Thank you so much ! And I will be sure to post plenty of pics ! One more question ! Can I use flock raiser all their life or should I change when they get to a certain age ? Once again thank you so much to the both of you !

Flock raiser can be used all their lives or when they are older you could prob switch to a layer pellet but I'm not so sure with the gosling as I don't have any geese(yet).
