Same thing happens here with our local feed stores. I think it's bc the people are local most times that sell them to the feed stores and they think they know what breed and pass it on, and they are wrong either bc they just guessed at it or was also told incorrectly. So then it once again gets passed on the the unknowing consumer. Next time, ask if the birds you want to but came from local farmers or a hatchery. If from a hatchery, then as I would think they should know the correct breed at least.Thanks everyone! This makes the 3rd chicken we bought from the last bunch from our local feed store that wasn't what we thought we were getting. My last thread I posted asking what breed is it, some thought it was a Langshan. I just find it interesting that the breeds people are thinking we've got, aren't even a breed I've ever seen for sale there or ever heard of...lol. This one is definitely the smallest of the bunch and quick!![]()
