Hello friends! Just yesterday I got 2 chicks from a friend who's daughter had hatched them at her school, and I was wondering if anyone could give a quick idenitication of what breeds and genders they are. It would be really great if you guys can! I tried to take some pictures at different angles, and even lifted them up to get a shot of their feet.

It would be awesome if someone could give me a solid answer! Thank you for taking time to look at this!

Thank you! Might you have any idea what gender they both are?

They're too young to sex accurately at this point. I would post their pics again in a couple of months. By then their gender will be obvious. If they are males they will have developed red combs. The Easter Egger will have three rows of peas in its comb (female EEs have only a single row), and the Barred Rock can be sexed by the shade of its barred feathers (males have light barring, females have dark barring).

Although the first has the greenish legs of an Easter Egger, it also has five toes and doesn't have muffs, so I'm thinking mix. The second looks like a Barred Plymouth Rock except he also has five toes so it looks like a mix also.

Good eye. I missed the fifth toe of the barred bird.) Given that, I agree it's a mix.
