What other black chicken breed do you know of that has paler eyes. The majority of them if not all have dark eyes, that's why I think black stars eyes are different. You may not be able to see that but I can, and if it makes my breed guesses more accurate than I don't really care what you think.I don’t think that’s true.

That hen was making a purr sound just like a rooster??? Should i be worried also
Here are pictures of their eyes
It shines green in the sun!!!I did some research on the difference between BlackStar and australorps, and looking at these pics I'm not to sure. I know a lot more about australorps than I do blackstars, and the website I went to said australorps have the green shine to their feathers, and blackstars don't. I know australorps can get the brown/gold tinge, and when used in breeding it keeps the green tinge. So I am not so sure anymore...
Um, nope. She’s a BSL because of the brown.I did some research on the difference between BlackStar and australorps, and looking at these pics I'm not to sure. She is a mixed breed and very likely a Black Sexlink (Black Stars are a specific mix that creates one). Since we don't know exactly her origin we probably shouldn't assume Black Star. Most of the time, commercial Black Sexlinks have yellow skin, orange eyes, and red leakage on the chest. There are no breeds of chickens that commonly (some landrace breeds may have this trait but this isn't a common combo by any means) have the combination of black with red leakage. Since she at the very least has the orange eyes and chest, that eliminates Australorp and Jersey Giant. Could she just be a mixed breed with no specific name-yes, but due to how common they are, I would assume she's a Black SexlinkI did some research on the difference between BlackStar and australorps, and looking at these pics I'm not to sure.
