It's too early to determine the gender. Usually it is 5-6 weeks at the earliest and many times takes longer until gender specific feathering comes in. I would have thought the chick was closer to 3.5-4 weeks from the feathers and not 2.5 wks. Usually feed stores put names/breeds on the bin.

They said they were accidentally put in with another kind of chickens they ordered.
 
Well... red, fast feathering, and looks medium in build with a single comb. The skin color looks white but it could be light yellow? It doesn't really match anything precisely. I guess the most likely is production red where they have mixed red breeds to improve egg count. I suspect that she'll lay lots of brown eggs.
