This chicken actually showed up as a "stray" at my good friend's house several weeks ago. Here is what she said about it.

"She? came under the fence from next door. For a while, she would come and drink, look for a few bugs in the pasture and leave again. Gradually she started hanging out more and more to the point that she stayed on my back patio most of the day. She never did venture into the barn to find the chicken feed, but LOVES dry kitten food.

Sunday, keet & I caught her! We are trying to figure out what she is. The other chickens haven't accepted her and I'm thinking she will go in with my babies when they come home."

Here she is:

We were thinking hen as well, since she has rounded tail and neck feathers. However, the spurs are really throwing us off!

Game hens are notorious for growing spurs. Some only get small 'spikes', but some do get full size spurs.

I have a game mix that has very nice spur on one leg and a half inch spike on the other.
