What breed and gender is this

This is my buddy's chicken and its about 7 months old. It's really big compared to my full sizes RIR hens, and white leghorn. So I thought it looked like a barred rock/white leghorn cross. And I think it might be a rooster because it stands its feathers on its neck straight up sometimes when it tries to fight the white leghorn hen. But there is no crowing or anything yet, or even a bright red comb. So any ideas of what breed/gender. Thanks

The one in the front is a pullet, but the one in the back is a mutt rooster.

Not always.

It is definitely a rooster. Has all the classic rooster feathering.

Your rooster looks to have a beard, so I'm going to say he's a barred rock x EE rooster. I have some myself, but they are not as old as your guy.

Yeah, he's a rooster. Really doesn't look 7 months to me, though, he looks younger--still kinda gawky. He'll crow eventually, trust me.
