What breed and gender?

Yes, my aunt told me that we'll give them away to our struggling neighbour once they're of proper age. I don't want to handle them anymore now that you've mentioned how it's inhumane since, if I were a meat bird, I would also prefer to be slaughtered than to suffer and live. I guess I'll just buy a different bird or chick breed in the future. Thank you for this!
This is a very mature way of looking at it. I commend you for making that decision. I'm sorry your first chicken keeping experience has turned this way but don't give up. Do some research on breeds and pick one that suits your needs. They have really cool chicken breeds you can get at feed stores. I personally recommend Easter Eggers. They come in a variety of colors, a lot of them have cute fluffy cheeks and beards. And the best part is lay can lay blue/green eggs!

Hang in there! This can be a very fun hobby.

Thanks! I can't really find stores that sell varieties of breeds, tho. I live in the Philippines and they usually only sell meat birds. I have no time to look since I'm still studying and I have piles of homeworks, exams, and projects stacked on top of me. I will try when I get the time to, though :)

This is a very selfless and kind thing to do. Both for the birds and your neighbor. Hugs! I know this is hard.
