Hello! I have just rescued some Lavender Cochin Bantams and three other chickens that we have not identified the breed yet, from in the woods on our land, we are taking them in and are wanting any help and tips on how to tell the breed of the three brown chickens and also how to breed the Lavender Cochins! We will be grateful for any help we can get!

:welcome The 'brown' birds appear to be 2 production reds and a red sex link. As you probably know the cochins are a pair - beautiful birds.
Thank you very much for your help! Do you know anything about breeding either types of birds we would love to find out more about them as we are taking them in and would like to breed them too!

The 'brown' birds are production breeds and as such breeding them need follow no pattern as they can not be shown. As for the cochins, I am not qualified to give breeding advice and would recommend that you go to the 'Chicken Breeds' forum and start a thread in 'Exhibition,Genetics, and breeding to SOP' including pictures of your birds.
