Our friend found this chick in his drive way, and we took it in. What breed and sex is it? It almost doesn’t even sound like a chick...has more of a bird chirp.

its a chicken... it looks like a jersey giant or australorp.. too young to sex.. does it have food and water? try giving it some electrolites or nutria-drench.. could you give it some plain scrambled egg and fresh greens? is something wrong with its neck?
Thank you! No I don’t believe anything is wrong with it’s neck...why do you ask? It has some yellow/white feathers on the underside of its neck. We have some food and water out there for it right now, and a heat lamp. We will go and get some electrolytes and greens tomorrow.

In agreement with the above. :) If the foot bottoms are pink, it's an Australorp. Yellow would equal Jersey Giant.

So far, nothing's screaming cockerel. :D

Yay! That’s good news! Thank you! I think I remember noticing the bottoms of the feet being yellow, but I need to go double check.

Great! oh, I only asked because in 1 or 2 of the pics its neck looked weird... but as long as it doesn't look like that all the time were good:thumbsup Thanks for saving it!:clap

Can you tell how old it may be?

Poor thing! Someone has got to be missing a chick... I mean, it’s not just everyday that you find a chick in your driveway ha!!
Yeah it’s the strangest thing! He doesn’t know any neighbors who have chickens...just so random! But she will be a welcomed addition to our brood!
