I’m not a 100% but he is looking like a cockerel. Is that what you wanted? I wish I’d have gotten a cockerel with my order but several of mine didn’t survive shipping. Next year, IF they are available, I’m going to order a few more blues and splash.
Easter Eggers are often used interchangeably with Americana/Ameracauna. I think Ameracaunas are a pure breed while EEs are more of a mix.Yes he was sold to me as a Blue Americauna cockerel
But people started saying he was an Easter egger and some said he looked like a pullet Easter egger so I just wasn’t sure

I don’t know about ducks but chicks can survive off their yolk sac for three days. I’m not saying you will, but many people do lose chicks during the shipping process. I’ve ordered from Hoover’s and Cackle and have lost chicks. Hatcheries usually include extra chicks with your order because of this. Both hatcheries have given me refunds on the lost chicks except for the extras which I didn’t pay for anyway.Wait can you tell us about this shipping experience you had?
I'm in the middle of something like that also. I have so many questions.
Like what happened with yours?
It looks like some ducklings I've waiting for won't show up till the 3rd day, can they even survive a third day in shipping? (The company was quoting 2 day shipping stuff.) Does everyone get losses in shipping chicks/ducklings also?
I want to ask so many things...
Are we supposed to count on only a % arriving? And what happens if you do get losses? Do they give you a refund %, or just send some more?

If you do lose some chicks don’t be mad at the Hatchery. Shipping is tuff on chicks. Don’t expect the Hatchery to send replacements of just a 1,2 or 3 chicks. The reason hatcheries have minimum orders on chicks is because the more chicks there are the better they can keep themselves warm during shipping. Do expect a refund for the ones that don’t survive though.
