What breed are these chickens?

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and also new in the hen field. These chickens (and the rooster too) are around 2 years old (except the little ones they are about 8 months I think). I started to watch them, cause my parents don't have time. My knowledge is limited, but I am very interested and want to know more. I have read some articles in this site which helped me a lot, but if I knew each breed in my coop I could improve things more. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance and sorry for the big amount of photos.

Looks like some mixes. I see production reds, red sex links and other mixes.

Some of these chickens are in poor shape. The girl in the second pic needs some help, but I'm not really sure what to suggest. Your rooster looks like he has scaly leg mites, which means you have to treat all of them.

Also, Welcome to BYC! I'm so glad you found your way here. There's tons of people who have tons of information here!

2 and 13 look like maybe red sex links. The rest are all mixes. Bird 2 is looking pretty sick. It would be a good idea to post her symptoms and some pictures of her in the medical/emergencies forum. Confining her away from the rest of the flock, in a pet carrier or cage, with her own water and food dishes, would also be a good idea. Good luck, and I think you are doing a very nice thing in caring for these birds.

I will take him to the vet to see what he will suggest. I'll have epithol ready.

I apologize for my mistake, bird 2 is dead, this is an outdated photo.

Is this something bad (the mixed breeds)? Pretty much every chicken in the coop don't want me to touch them and when I try to catch one with my hands it tries to escape. Especially this rooster is very suspicious and when he have the chance (almost every day) he pounce on me. Once I wanted to cut into smaller pieces the piece of bread I gave him because he was struggling to eat it and he pounced on me trying to kill me. I ran away cause beating it's not an option, and then he started to chase me. Then I found a broom and tried gently to push him away, but he kept attacking. The fight didn't ended nice neither for him neither for me (wounded). From then I thought that I did something wrong and if I knew their breed characteristics I could better understand them. Should I kill them and buy new from clear breeds or give them away? Thanks for you advices and kind words

First of all I would address the rooster. If he was attacking me, he would have to go - into the soup pot or to a forewarned home. Check the hens for external parasites and treat if necessary. Treat for internal parasites and provide an adequate commercial diet, and the health of your flock should greatly improve. Good luck.

Wow, well, unfortunetly, one of the easiest ways to treat leg mites is to coat your chicken's legs with Vaseline several times a day for a week and then again in 3 weeks, I think. If your chickens won't let you catch them, this will be come an ordeal.

As for the rooster, I completely agree with @sourland here. I brought an adult rooster into my flock, and he never showed any aggression towards me or my kids, my dog, or any visitors that come to my house. If he did, he'd be gone. Don't put up with human aggression.

Mix breeds isn't a bad thing, unless you were breeding for a specific breed. If you don't care about pure bred birds, then who cares about mixes.

Hey there! Looks like you have quite the flock! I agree that there are many mixed breeds, but that isn't a bad thing, not at all! They may be a bit nervous of you at first, and they may never warm up to being picked up or touched, that is just a fact of chicken keeping. Even pure breeds don't like to be chased. Occasionally someone will have a chicken that enjoys cuddles, but I have never seen such a chicken. If you wanted to make friends with them, I would suggest getting some cracked corn or maybe some mealworms and sitting down with the hens. Try tossing some pieces to them, and maybe see if they'll eat out of your hand. Slow steady movements will be welcomed, and after a bit they may come running up excited to see and hoping for treats ;) I would also recommend getting rid of the rooster, there is no point in being afraid of tending to your chickens because of a mean rooster. The hens will still lay eggs without him, and its possible the hens will like you more once he is gone. Have your hens been laying eggs? Any fun colored eggs? My chickens love to eat scrambled egg, so maybe you could try that as a treat sometime.

Hello! :frow Welcome to the crazy chicken lovers' forum. :) You have a fine-looking flock.
Yes, a lot of your red birds look like Production Reds/Rhode Island Red/New Hampshire Red/(Red Sex Link?) crosses. Some of them look like Easter Egger (mixes?). And bird seven looks like a Delaware cross.
To sum it up, they all look like cross breeds/mutts. :)
