Hi! We received a sort of surprise mix of fertile eggs a couple months ago (it’s a long story) and have been guessing at what three of our chicks could be. I’d love to hear some second opinions! Feel free to guess at gender too, though we aren’t super worried about that.
Chick 1: We’re thinking this one is a Delaware maybe? The biggest of the chicks we hatched. Super friendly. Chick 2 makes an appearance in the second picture.

Chick 2 and 3: These guys have feathery legs and looked almost the exact same at hatch and still pretty similar. We think they’re Cochins but I can’t find any pictures of Cochin chicks with this exact coloring so I’d love to know if anyone can tell me how they’ll look grown!! Since we can compare these guys we’re pretty sure we have one boy and one girl.

A little silkie photobomb for the last one!

I have 17 Delaware chicks that are 3 weeks old and Chick 1 definitely looks like where they are headed (also similar patterns to adult chicken photos i've seen). As to gender I can't help you, sorry! From everything I've read these guys can be difficult to determine until they start crowing or laying. Another person posted photos and everyone was sure it was a cockerel, they agreed, right up until she laid her first egg. lol. Good luck, I don't know much about the others.

Yay good to know! I’ll be happy to have one, they’re very pretty from the photos I’ve seen! We think this one is a cockerel based on the size and behavior, but I would definitely prefer a hen. So I can cross my fingers and hope I’ve just got a big girl here!

#1 looks like a cockrell to me, and
#2 a hen,
not sure on breed but could be a dark brahma.
