What breed are these hens?

They are Easter eggers. Definitely not araucanas, but beautiful nonetheless! Often times, EEs are labeled as araucanas or ameraucanas, especially when bought from a hatchery or farm supply/feed store. If you want real araucanas, I'd get them from a reputable breeder. Hope this helps!!

Thanks! That does help! (You've all helped!). We did buy them from a farm supply store. The lady who helped us get them said that with these chicks their feather color and egg color are related -- the darker the feathers the more blue the eggs, the lighter the feathers the greener the eggs. Is this true? So far the only one of these chickens who is definitely laying is Pimple. She was the palest feathered as a baby chick, and she lays green eggs. Which may have been a coincidence -- unless the lady was right!

Thanks everyone for all the replies! It's neat to know what our girls are!

Feather color has absolutely nothing to do with egg color. It's totally unrelated. It's cool that you've got green eggs, tho! I'd love to see a pic of one!

They all appear to be Easter Eggers. I have two without tufts or muffs. Out of curiosity, what made you name one Pimple and the other Eddie?

When Eddie was small, she really looked like a bald eagle with her pale head. I pointed out that she looked like an Eddie the Eagle and the Eddie part stuck!

Something similar happened with Pimple. She was nameless for a long time, until one day the kids were brainstorming name ideas. One suggested using her features to find a name and the first response was, "Black head!" We laughed and pointed out that a black head was a type of pimple. So the kids immediately decided she was a Pimple.

Both names started as a joke, but ended up sticking.

The kids went out to collect eggs early this morning and let these sitting on the island for me to find. The green one is pretty easy to spot! Apart from our three EEs, all of our other chickens are brown egg layers (Rhode Island Red, Barred Rock, Partridge Rock, Isa Brown).
