Hi everyone. I rescued two hens last week and I am still unable to identify their proper breed. At first I thought they were white leghorns but their earlobes aren’t white (they’re red) and they don’t lay white eggs it’s more of a light brown colour. Can anyone tell me what breed they might be? Thank you!

Hello, and welcome to BYC. Perhaps one of the leghorn hybrids? They will be beautiful birds once you get them back into condition.
Thank you for letting me know! Yeah, they aren’t in great condition just now because of where they came from they weren’t properly looked after. They are out freeranging all day and get fed morning and night, hopefully it will brighten them up and get them looking like their proper breed

Thank

Thank you, I’m so glad to be here! They have been laying daily so far, but their eggs aren’t in great condition because they have just been rescued from unhealthy living conditions. Hopefully in a couple of months their eggs will be gleaming after some proper care!
