My parents got these chickens but I don’t know what breed they are. If anyone knows, please tell me.

Well welcome! I hope you enjoy raising your chickens and I hope you'll enjoy BYC. Any questions, just ask. That's what the website is for.Thank you so much! I’m kind of new to this backyard chicken thing so all I know are the basics.

I'm not sure if you know that you have a young male in the second picture or not, but he is going to be a rooster one day. The bird in the first picture is female and older.
No, she just looks a bit older than the male. I could be wrong. She's definitely under a year old and not ready to lay yet. But it won't be too long. This is kind of embarrassing but I thought it was a female when my parents brought them home.
I only found out the other day when my mom pointed out that “Helen” (we named him “Helen”) was actually a male. His name is now Ronald.
I’m surprised that the female’s older. Do you think she’s over a year?
Thank you so much for your time. My first post in this community and it’s off to a great start! No, she just looks a bit older than the male. I could be wrong. She's definitely under a year old and not ready to lay yet. But it won't be too long.
Thank you! My first year and the colder weather is around the corner and Minnesota won’t be friendly. We’re winter proofing up their coop so finger cross that they make it!I agree with @JedJackson . The second bird is definitely a cockerel. Good luck with your new chickens!
