What breed are we?

I figured someone would question that..yes her comb has now flopped and unless roosters lay eggs she gives me breakfast..Minorca's have very large combs and can be very hard to tell the sex..believe me we went back and forth on it for weeks. The egg clinched it.As it turned out she's the only white egg layer in that pasture so it couldn't have come from another hen and Minorca's love to crow and this just gives you the "look"

No, it's not the comb that gets me. It's the pointed saddle feathers on the back. I raised Black Minorcas so am familiar with the breed, but yours seems to have pointed saddle feathers as well as a darkened saddle area that's usually only seen in the Buff males.

Agreed..that's why we kept going back and forth looks like a little roo and she's not being bred because her color is off and she has yet to feather in real nice...but that bird has gone thru H The saddle feather look is completely gone now.I saw those and had some **##!! words to say then as she finished feathering and looks more like the other laying hens in both buff and black.Maybe just a gender crisis

But she is in with all Plymouth Rocks and Buff Orp crosses in that pasture and I'm getting 6 white eggs a week in there...or bi-sexual? Looks like a roo and lays like a hen

I would have used a better pullet for the picture but realized I don't have any of them in buff just in the blacks..really need to get the camera out there more.

Yep, he has white ears, but he is Half Red Sex Link (thats what I'm calling them since its the closest) and Half Buff Orpington. I assume this is where those white ears come from

The thing about Vulture is that as a chick she looked mostly black, and a grayish throat, which matches the black sex link chick look, but who knows. If she lays a green egg, maybe she is a new breed of chicken

For the doubters..I know I was included in that list come by late morning and see her lay the egg...if it wasn't for that my others can't get near her coop I would think one was flying in and flying out.
Edited for lack of sleep spelling
