What breed do i have

Hi i have these pullets that are about 6 mths old just started laying and i have know idea what they are, i bought them as chicks that were ment to be barnevelders. they are laying small brown eggs which im not sure if they are small because of breed or because they are young hens.
if anyone can help id much appreciate it

I agree. The other one, though-- the one with the interesting lacing-- I have no idea what she would be. Maybe a barnevelder cross??? I really couldn't say. She's beautiful, though. I love her hackle feathers and the way they trail onto her back....super pretty. Nice looking girls you got there!

ETA: There's the tiniest possibility she could have some Welsummer in her somewheres....I was trying to think of what breed her lacing reminded me of and then remembered it was Welsummers. Super birds, those Wellies....

I had started to think before i put the pics up that they were just crossed barni's, but just wanted to get some chookie peoples opinions. My sister bought them for me at a local poultry and calf auction as "barnevelders" then when they started getting older and not looking like pics i had found of the breed i think i knew they werent. But all the same they are nice healthy young girls and hopefully their eggs will get a bit bigger as they get older, thats the only issue i have with them at the moment.

Mixed breeds, and I doubt there is Barnevelder in them at all. That one is penciled, not laced.
