What breed do you think this is?

I recieved this chick as a freebie from Mcmurray Hatchery. It is 8 weeks old. Any ideas what it might be?

I would say Golden Lakenvelder, BUT they don't have them so maybe a Campine? Is it full size or bantam?

That would be the poorest quality Campine ever then. Campines have solid golden heads and necks, THEN black patterning throughout their bodies. This bird is just straight-up a golden with black in the primaries, tail, and neck/head. It's a Golden Lakenvelder.

Also, Murray Mcmurray can give breeds they don't advertise. Example - They have oriental gamefowl mutts, they don't advertise selling them, but they do sell them as extras as well as "frypan specials."

Another note - Their site does not explain if they only carry the silver variety or both.

I have Golden Lakenvelders and Golden Campines. That looks like a Golden Lakenvelder cockerel to me. Cute little guy!

Also- I thought that I would mention that in my McMurray order which was to include possibly Porcelain or Mille Fleur d'uccles, they included two GOLDEN NECKED d'Uccles- which they don't even carry according to their website.

I was THRILLED- and now I would love to have MORE golden-necked d'Uccles.
