what breed has a tendancy to go broody other than silkies?

Both of my buff opps. are very broody. They will puff up and sing a song that is hilarious. I just take the eggs away and then after a while remove her for a cuddle and let the other girls have a chance.

I have 3 old english games and one silkie that are broody. One of the OEG actually ran off the silkie. But later on the silkie was sitting in the nest box with oeg. These are all 1 year old hens and thir first bout of broodiness.

is there any way to encourage broodyness?

Strangely, I've had a australorp go broody (the other two hens made her want to hatch babies too!)... she got tired after 3 weeks when they didn't hatch and adopted a chick with a broken wing which she raised herself

and we had a Jersey Giant Mix OR Barred Rock Mix go broody and she hatched out a cluster and we also gave her a bunch of other chicks we incubator-hatched out and she raised those...

My jungle fowl & silky made the first two go broody, but I've always had cochins/bantams and silkies go broody... and the SO always have had broody jungle fowl

and they also kicked kitty cats' and dogs' butts... LOL they PROTECTED their babies... even the meanest of dogs were afraid of them!!!
