Hello, I was given a chick a couple weeks ago that was the result of a school project. The parents of the boy who it was given to came into my work place (I work at a pet store) looking for a heat lamp. I mentioned that I have chickens, and they offered it to me. Of course I couldn't say no!

Anyways I was wondering if anyone could help me identify what breed it might be? It's about 4 weeks old now and I'll attach a photo of when I first got it plus a current one. Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking Black Australorp, if it starts to grow reddish brown coloring on its neck and chest it maybe a BSL.

    I second that it's a black australorp.
I doubt that it's a black sex link, the brownish breast plumage would have showed up by now.
