What breed is my chicken?

TXmom, I don't mean to hijack the thread but I was noticing your fencing. Is if 4' or 5' high and how big of an area? Does it stay grass and if so , how many chickens are out and for how long? Do they fly over? We are going to install something similar on about 1/4 acre for 8 chickens.

I think that's a Partridge Rock. Here's a photo of the various Plymouth Rock colors, it may help, that's a Partridge Rock on the lower right. Keep in mind that those are adolescent feathers, she'll molt at 18 months to her adult plumage.

I wish people would keep their dogs in their own yards! She was over the fence, but still in the middle of our own property.

We have approximately a half-acre fenced that we let them "free-range" on all the time, we almost never keep them locked up in the coop/run. There is definitely plenty of grass/weeds/misc. green stuff. It only got big bare spots during the winter, and now that it's spring, it's starting to fill in, and we need to mow!
