What breed is my duckling?

He was pure black and now (he’s around 4-6 weeks) he’s starting to get mallard type feathers! But he was pure black so he can’t be a mallard!?!? Note - when we got him all the others were either Pekin or Mallard ducklings! If you want pictures please private message me I don’t wanna post pictures of him here sorry. Also, is it okay to raise him with Pekins?
