What breed is my gobbler?

I've had this gobbler awhile and need to know what breed he is so I can get hens for him

I don't know much about turkeys but it looks like a Black Turkey (search on google to check)

I have looked and thought the same thing but.not a black spanish.. then sometimes in the sun he looks bronze in alot of places

The breed is Turkey. All domestic turkeys are the breed Turkey. There are many varieties.

Your turkey is a mixed variety as it definitely has a black color gene but it is not a pure black. It is likely one of the many varieties that don't have a specific variety name applied but instead have names that reflect the various heterozygous color genes they have.

He came from rural king I think.. I got him off someone's aunt that raised him.. I would like to know what kind of hens to get him tho

Just get him black hens

He can have any of the heritage varieties of turkey hens. They are all compatible. Personally I would not use that tom as a breeder.

I would end up keeping the babies anyway of I got black hens lol he's a big pet anyway and follows me everywhere lol

Aren't turkeys great.? He is a beautiful boy. Good luck at finding him some girl friends...
