Regina is a brown egg layer and so lovable. I do not know what type of breed she is. She was abandonded by our neighbor six months ago, and we have been taking care if her.

Good on you for taking her in and caring for her! Your neighbors must have been very irresponsible to just leave an animal o fend for itself and eventually die...

She’s the best chicken in the world. We made her a condo and lays large brown eggs. So lovable and she hangs out with us all day. I do not know why my neighbor just picked up and left. He left Regina in the snow and cold and rain. But she’s good, fat and healthy now. Thanks for the input

I'd go with a barnyard mix, probably either an NH Red or Rhode Island mix. NH's have a more consistent feather pattern and coloration. Her under tips betray her though...perhaps a Sussex/NH Red cross. Also has some very Red Six Link characteristics. Regardless, she looks healthy and alert. Awesome of you to take her in. Very pretty bird.

Aside from her comb being larger she looks a lot like our mix girl. Her mom is a Buff and dad is a black java. I am no expert though just saw the picture and thought she looks so much like our Little Jr.(mom's name is chicken little).
