Definitely not a Rhode Island Red. Totally different variety. Where was he from? He's potentially a Partridge Rock

Looks like a mix to me. Black breast and white legs are wrong for a RIR. Doesn't look quite right for a partridge rock either.

we hatched him, his dad looked the same but i'm not sure about the hen who laid the egg, maybe an australorp
