What breed is my rooster?

its a mix and if he is in with bantam hens then you may want to remove those hens as if he breeds (or tries to breed) with them he can seriously injure them or kill them because of his size.

with roos if you have:
~ all bantams use a bantam roo
~ all large fowl you can use either large fowl or bantam roo
~ a mix if large fowl and bantam hens then you need a bantam roo

My LF roos have never hurt my bantam girls. The bantams are usually much too fast for them. However, I have hatched out eggs from my bantams that obviously had a LF father, as the chicks grow up to be 'medium sized'. The hens were uninjured from the breeding. This hen is an example of a product of a cross between an OEG bantam mother and a LF rhode island red father. I suggest you closely watch the roo and the hens together, though, to make sure he's not hounding them constantly to the point where the hens are exhausted, as they can get injured then.

It looks like a mixed breed rooster. An EE rooster usually won't have that large of a single comb. Even it was an EE (pea comb) x single combed breed, it would most likely have what's called a modified pea comb.
