What kind of rooster is this?

That's a cute photo. I'm not sure on his breed. He looks like a mix of breeds. It seems like he has a form of rose comb or maybe a smaller walnut comb. I've done a little reading on comb genetics and it is pretty complicated.

I agree, he looks like he's a bit mixed though.

He's a mixed breed. He may have some Wyandotte--that's the most common non-barred rose combed bird around. He'd be mixed with something like an Orpington or Sussex, something with white skin.
