Thanks! I was curious about their breed after the hens mated with my rhode island rooster and hatched chicks that are really colorful now that they are grown and most of them are small. The cockrel is actually the son of the white hen, and i know for sure that he has Rhode Island Red genes, yet they dont showOld english game crosses, I'd guess (purebreeds are supposed to have white legs). I'm no color expert, but I'd say the rooster's a golden duckwing, and the hen might be silver or golden duckwing. The young cockerel (?) in the background is probably the golden duckwing's son with a solid-color hen.
I have a little girl that looks just like him--solid red hen crossed with the boy in my avatar. They're pretty, aren't they? Thanks! Oh,very much so! Every time the hens sit on the eggs, I don't know what color chicken I will get, so it's very exciting. The black hen with white on her neck has chicks currently, and I can't wait to see what colors they will mature into!I have a little girl that looks just like him--solid red hen crossed with the boy in my avatar.
