What breed is she?

So, my sister lives in town and my my bro-in-law called me and told me that my 73 year old sister is running down the street, barefoot, chasing a chicken! I was like..."what on earth?!"

In short order, he said it's in the cage now. Can we bring it out there to y'all?

I said, "Yeah! See you in half an hour."

Their new neighbors' kid was given this sweet girl in a pet carrier by another kid. He thought she'd be okay in a fenced yard, living in a crawl space under their house, with the crawl space door open. She got out and so ensued the epic, minutes-long chase.

She is separated by a pop door from my flock and safe and sound. She can see all the other girls and one roo. She can't walk very well and uses her wings to steady herself. But chickens are resilient so I think if she has good food, fresh water (with pro-Bs in it now and electrolytes tomorrow) she will learn to walk, jump, run and she will be fine after a while. I don't think she's very old either. Her head feathers aren't developed much and she doesn't have much of a comb yet...but depending on her breed or mix, she may have a small comb.

But we have no clue what breed or mix she could be!

Anybody have any ideas?!

Thanks for your help!

She appears to me a mic, maybe with some Easter egger involved since she has a pea comb.

I'm guessing she has some sort of back injury. It would be a good idea to post about her, with the pictures, on the medical emergencies board: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures.10/

It may be too late, but I would get her as far away from the other chickens as you can. She should be quarantined for a month or so to make sure she doesn't have a disease that could be spread to the rest of your flock. This is really a good idea whenever introducing a chicken from another flock to your own birds.

She is separated from them. She's in my "hospital/brooder coop and run".

She is walking like a chicken now. She was raised, up until the point I got her, in a pet taxi! I was horrified! She has had meds and vitamins and she's beginning to use her wings. So she will stay in this run until she's stronger and we know she is okay. They can see each other, but zero contact.

Good deal. You're really going all out for her, and I think it's wonderful that she's responding so well. Great job!

So, thank you for your concern and also the info about her possibly being a mix with an Easter egger. She is in very good hands now and I go out and put her on a perch and pet her. She was so neglected before! I am gonna baby her until she's able to be integrated with her new flock.
