I got this from my neighbor, who orders assorted heavies. It's 5 weeks old. She said she got it from Hatch Hatchery. I couldn't find it. Do you know what hatchery she could mean?

I dont know what breed he is, sorry. But I have never heard of a hatchery called hatch hatchery, sounds kind of cheesy to me, but maybe it is just some local farm/hatchery.

any takers. It almost looksl ike a Buff Orpington/Barred Rock cross, but it was a pure breed hatchery.

Big news guys. I talked to her again and she talked to our Runnings (local feed store where everybody buys poultry) poultry expert, who told her it was Hoover's hatchery. I looked at their assorted heavies, and these are the breeds it could be.
Production Red
Rhode Island Red
Barred Rock
Black Australorp
Black Sex Link
Buff Orpington
White Rock
Silver Laced Wyandotte
Gold Star
Americana (I think it has a relationship to the Ameraucana and/or Easter Egger).

There "americanas" (actually spelled ameraucanas), are really easter eggers they just label them wrong. There are only 2 hatcheries I know of that have AMs and they get things messed up a lot and the birds dont usually meet the standard.

I know how it is actually spelled. I just spelled it the way that hatchery did. This isn't a standard EE though. It said it can lay brown, blue, or green. I've never seen a bird that can lay 2 majorly different colors.
