What breed is this and is it rare?

She is very pretty. I agree she has something mixed in her genetics. If you were going to breed her, I would match her up with an excellent mille fleur colored male to improve the color. The chicks should provide better color than the mom, but you don't know what else she has in her makeup, so you'd have to try and see what pops up.

$15 is pretty reasonable for a hen at auction, unless they're spent. A lot depends on if its something someone really likes too..they'll just keep bidding in hopes of winning.
