What breed is this bantam hen??

It's not a old english, I don't think it's a japanese either.. Im not really sure with it's tail held that high. Though you said it's usually horizontal? If so it probably is a Dutch, then there's the white earlobes which make sense too..

Both Dutch and Old english lay white eggs.. There's not a game out there that lays brown... Tinted, but not brown.

ETA: And her color looks more like a... Ginger red than red quil to me. But i guess it could be just bad coloring..

I don't think so. Mille Fleur have feathered legs.

Mille fluer is a color, people just refer to "Mille fleur D'uccles" as mille fleurs often, The hen you posted is a Mille fleur Old english game bantam.

They BOTH lay white eggs? Okay, so now I am stumped because I have a little group of bantams I bought as assorted chicks at my local feedstore that I was certain were all Old English...that store orders from Ideal and I was able to identify them as a Blue Old English roo, 1 silver duckwing girl, 1 lemon blue girl, and 1 silver campine colored girl (not the breed, the color).

They started laying recently and somebody has been laying little brown eggs that are pretty dark (not marans dark, but at least as dark as my RIRs and barred rocks). Now I have to wonder who is laying those brown eggs and what in the heck it is! My only suspicion is the silver campine because I did find silver campine Old English on Ideal's site, but she is a little different looking that the rest...much smaller comb than the other two girls.

This is becoming a huge mystery to me now...

I have only one hen that lays truly brown eggs (like RIR brown) and she's pearl OEG

Most of my other OEG's lay tinted eggs and the rest white.

My only Dutch hen lays tinted eggs
And Pip (the hen I posted about for 'what breed is this') was apparently Dutch and laid white eggs...

So, in my experience the egg colors differ in the breed... but mine are hatchery quality, and so the fact that they lay tinted/ brown eggs could be a defect???

And cyanne, I had a GOLDEN campine patterned OEG who laid pure white eggs.

AAAH, can someone solve this mystery?!!!!

If they lay any other color besides white/off white, it's a 100% guarantee there is something crossed into it. Which wouldn't doubt it if it came from a hatchery.
