What breed is this cockerel?

Hi I found a cockerel in my house today. Don't know how it ended up inside my house compound (suspect maybe it's trying to mate with my hen). Any idea what breed is this cockerel. View attachment 1211834

Is it just be or does he look like a beauty! A little ruffled up though. About the breed? Not sure.

I would suspect he wants your hen too

Looks like a game fowl, but as to what "breed" (line) I don't think there is a way to know unless you can get some history on him (find out who owns or bred him and ask).

Thanks. Have asked my neighbours and it didn't belong to anyone. As it kept trying to get near my hen that was inside the coop, I tried to chase it away and got a shock when it flew literally like an aeroplane over my neighbours' roof tops and then out of sight in less than a minute (was so amazed by its ability to fly so high and far...no wonder it could get into my house compound). I then read up and suspect it might be the endangered pure red jungle fowl.

Either red jungle fowl, Gamefowl, or cross of the two. He is beautiful.

I agree, some kind of game.

I've also seen chickens fly pretty well. They were not bantams either. They were I'd guess you'd call them feral. When I was young we lived with some friends of my moms. They had chickens, barred rocks and other breeds. I remember a huge white roo that use to crow outside my bedroom window. I guess at some point they either got out or they let them go. Many years later I went back to that street, my cousin lived a couple houses away from where I use to live and there was a flock of feral chickens. Descendants of those birds I use to collect eggs from. The feral birds could really fly if startled. We saw one fly up to the top of a telephone pole.
