Probably one of the hatchery layer hybrids which now abound. I don't think she is an Ancona or any other mottled variety. Possibly a hatchery quality JG? Hoover's isn't known for high quality stock.

I don’t think it’s a Jersey Giant. She’s not big enough at this age. The kid that sold her to me said she is. But I called and talked to the manager and he said they never ordered Jersys.Probably one of the hatchery layer hybrids which now abound. I don't think she is an Ancona or any other mottled variety. Maybe when it gets bigger it will be easier to tell. Right now I am drawing a blank.I don’t think it’s a Jersey Giant. She’s not big enough at this age. The kid that sold her to me said she is. But I called and talked to the manager and he said they never ordered Jersys.
I don't see those on their site.Does Hoover's offer Mottled Javas? I refuse to have Hoover's in my search history, or I'd look myself. They should have yellow skin, but knowing Hoover's if it's black and white and a chicken, it's close enough.
Oh I did not know they had yellow skin!Does Hoover's offer Mottled Javas? I refuse to have Hoover's in my search history, or I'd look myself. They should have yellow skin, but knowing Hoover's if it's black and white and a chicken, it's close enough.
A quick Google shows Mottled Javas with yellow/mottled legs. It's been ages since I had any, but I seem to recall them having yellow legs.Oh I did not know they had yellow skin!
I might go for this Mottled Java thing but the chicks are mostly yellow with black spots top. But mostly Yellow. This one was Black and marked exactly like a Jersey Giant. So only a small amount of light markings.A quick Google shows Mottled Javas with yellow/mottled legs. It's been ages since I had any, but I seem to recall them having yellow legs.
