Okay, I have a few chicks (5 total) that are mille fleur's, but im a bit confused on the coloring? i have 2 mille's before and they look alike. The only difference is the color... the wings started to come out and tail feathers.... I've noticed the feathers on the legs and blue/white and the wing feathers are mostly blue with tan on 1 side. the tails the same...

Any ideas?

Well, Mille Fleur is a variety (color), not a breed. There are a number of Bantam breeds that are bred in Mille Fleur. Most often they are Belgian d'uccle or Bearded Belgian d'anvers bantams in Mille Fleur. I breed and raise Dutch Bantams in Mille Fleur and Cream (Citroen) Mille Fleur varieties. They originated in Holland and mine came from Holland. They are not crossbreds, but a Breed that is Mille Fleur in color (variety).

The chicks pictured are not Mille Fleur variety (color). Lovely little ones.

Likely they are Porcelain variety? Porcelain is not bred in Dutch, but Belgians (and other Bantam breeds), may be bred in Porcelein--a lovely soft Beige with slatey blue stripe across body plumage with each feather tipped with white. Takes quite a while to develop mature color, so be patient and ENJOY these dear chicks as they grow! Can be envious of a good Porcelain colored bantam!

They're porcelain in color, likely D'uccles. We have one, she is beautiful and the sweetes little tiny thing! She's way more on the love able, loved on frequently side of things. She loves her beard rubbed and to be held, pet and snuggled!

Normal colored Mille Fleurs? -the Store will list the Breeds that they ordered. Each Bantam breed is available in only certain colors. Knowing the breed will help identify the Porcelain for sure. Porcelains are not common and you will love yours!. With the "beard" and feathered legs, yours are surely Belgian Bearded d'Uccle Bantams. They are bred in 10 accepted colors in the US, and each variety is bred carefully--not crossed with other colors, even in d'Uccles, without knowing the ones that will not produce mongrel colors.

I raise two Dutch Bantam Mille Fleur colors--Mille Fleur and Cream Mille Fleur. It is possible to raise Blue Mille Fleur in Dutch. but they are not very distinct and less desireable. Expect your babies will be beautiful when feathered!

I have a book BELGIAN BANTAMS, by Veronica Mayhew. Although my Mille Fleur bantams are Dutch not Belgians, there is little to study how to breed the Mille Fleur colors, and it has been very useful to learn the genetics and choosing the best birds to use for breeding the pattern correctly. It becomes a really long term project, with lots of pleasure! Enjoy yours!

I'm not sure i understand the confusing part? I hope this doesn't come out rude, I don't know how to word it differently. We have identified the breed and the color. Dd you want to know the sexes as well?
