What breed is this on the book cover?

I live in TN USA. Someone told me this chicken was a California...... ? I can't remember the whole name. I googled it and could only find chickens with a spot or two. Thank you for your time.

You were probably told a California White.

But that is NOT correct. California whites have single combs. The bird on the picture has a rose comb.

It's not a pure breed. I think it is a Hamburg cross hen. Her color isn't right for any of the standard varieties.
