My EE's have the feather tufts on the face and I can't see hers in the pics, that may be the difference you are seeing.

If you mean the earlobes, I've picked up my EE hens and moved their cute little muffs out of the way, and all of their earlobes are completely red. This one has white, which tells me she's crossed with a white egg layer. Her comb is also quite large for an EE...
