What breed is this Roo? (TommyVT any guess)

I have this Roo that I had always thought was a Gold Phoenix but I think is something else. Is this Roo a Black Breasted Red Cubaola (however it is spelled) or something else?

Can anyone help me find out what it really is?

He lost some of those beautiful neck feathers a couple of weeks ago fighting with a couple of other roos I had before I finally got rid of them. The feathers are starting to come back in now.

No, its definitly not a Cubalaya(they have a dif comb, head and form) or a phoenix.

Looks like a mixed breed to me, phoenixXred cap maybe(since he has a rosecomb and they sport similar body form and colour).


Pretty bird tho.

Cubas also have white legs, not slate colored. I'd say he has phoenix in him, but he's not pure anything. My bet is with fancyfowl4ever's guess.

Here is a pic of the hen that I was told was a Gold Phoenix also but I have seen other pics that look just like her that are something else. I'm so confussed, what breed does she look like?

Both of these birds are about 7 months old now. They were hatched around the first week of October 2007. If that also helps any.
Does it look like there is some Jungle Fowl in them too?

They're both beautiful birds.
I'm a neophyte with chickens, esp. breeds, but I noticed the similarity between your hen and my Welsummer hens (my girls are only 9 weeks).

So that's what a welsummer looks like. She is a pretty bird too.

Anybody else got any guesses on what these 2 birds are or what they may have mixed in with them?

I know I have seen pics on TommyVT's site and he has some that look just like these (in my opinion) so I would really like to hear what he has to say about these.
