Oohhhh! an answer I know !

well, about the raising and breeding NOT what breed you have.


What we did was this- we got a LOT of random chickens right out of the egg. Followed by FALLING IN LOVE with chickens period. Now I want to show ( I think Duckwings but thats another thread) and so we built a coop that has two doors and is essentially split in 1/2 inside. There is a 1/2 wall with wire from the top to keep the two groups separate... so our final coop / run will look like this - keep in mind you can use this idea plan to also focus on breeding your rare chickens but also keep your original chickens ( plus the ones that you'll be given at deaths door by people who know you keep chickens!)

Now that is a great idea!! I want to do both - have my wonderful little mixed up group and have some really nice good breeds!! Thanks for the idea!!

psssst you could build the coop REALLY big and split it in 4... the you could have mixed and 3 breeds.
