I want to say red Dorking, but he doesn't have the fifth toe and the legs don't look pale enough. His leg color and body shape are wrong for a Welsummer. So probably a mixed breed. The color is the wild type color and it's very common. You will find this color or something very similar in red Dorking males, black breasted red game males, light brown Leghorn males, Welsummer males, and a whole bunch of others.

not a Dorking, Welsummers and black copper marans look almost exactly the same except for their wing and legs, Marans will have feathered legs and their lower part of their wings would be completely black, Welsummer roosters will have clean legs and orange feathers right at the end of their wings. So I believe you have a welsummer.

Some Marans's (the French ones, if I'm not mistaken) don't have leg feathering.

He does have the coloring of some of the lighter, more brilliant BCM roosters. But the body is longer and less round than I would expect for that breed, his tail is longer and held at a lower angle, and the legs much shorter. I suppose he could be one though, just a little off. He's beautiful, whatever he is.
