Yeah, it’s a meal maker. I totally overlooked that I opted for this and was (pleasantly)surprised when there was a weird yellow one in the bunch.Wait, is this a meal maker? If so, Meyer doesn't carry Wheaten Marans.Only Cackle Hatchery does, and most of the time their legs are feathered.

Hmm. That’s be great. Though when she was younger and even now, she was much more yellow than pictures of other production red chicks.Production red makes the most sense IMO. The meal maker is normally an excellent layer, not a show bird.
Mixing breeds for production allows for a wider variability of traits. She doesn't appear to be sexlinked because of the pale down and red wingtips (that's backward).Hmm. That’s be great. My mystery hen is now 22 weeks and started laying a couple weeks ago. Here is a picture of her now -- any thoughts on what breed of chicken this is?
