The big difference is comb type. Rhode Island Reds have single (or rose but those lines are extremely rare) and Buckeyes have pea combs!

I didn't know Buckeyes had pea combs, now I know!

She is certainly not a Rhode Island Red. She is a Buckeye She has a pea comb!!

Buckeyes also have slate undercolor on their feathers unlike other red breeds! This is only visible under close examination though but another notable characteristic!
